Word XP takes 15 to 30 seconds to start, and says it is requesting a virus scan. This started when EndNote Web's plugin was installed, how can I resolve this?

| Answer:
Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent this that we are aware of. Since EndNote Web integrates with Word using Macros, and Microsoft has increased security in later versions of Word to automatically scan Macros for viruses each time a Macro is loaded from Word's startup folder (even if virus software is not installed or enabled), there is no way to prevent this delay when loading the EndNote Web tools in Word.
